Paul M. Meyer
Paul has extensive experience in the administration of the LEED certification process, being involved with over 160 LEED registered projects. My LEED project experience ranges from Massachusetts, to California, to Florida and internationally in India and Vietnam. He has been involved with several LEED Platinum projects.
He also has done extensive volunteer work including being a board member of the USGBC Long Island including Board Secretary (5 years), Chair of the Education Committee (5 years), Chair of the 2012 Regionalization Committee (2 years), taught LEED exam study groups (6 years), gave LEED CEU presentations (2 years), and several other LEED related speaking engagements. It is estimated that he has taught over 700 people LEED.
At USGBC National Paul has been a member of the Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group (4 years), and a Pro Reviewer for Educational content (2 years). He has also been invited to the USGBC offices in Washington, DC to review and edit LEED V4 accreditation exam questions for the USGBC as a Test Development Volunteer.
He has also volunteered as the Treasurer of the Building Commissioning Association, Northeast Chapter and have previously volunteered with other civic groups such as Judging for FIRST Robotics and giving presentations for NEPRIS.
Paul has collaborated with the Stony Brook University’s Continuing Education department and the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center for the last 10 years. He also wrote and teach a credit bearing undergraduate course in all types of building commissioning in the Construction Engineering department of Farmingdale State College as an Assistant Professor, where I also sat on the college’s Green Building Institute’s Advisory Board.
He has also certified by the Association of Energy Engineers as a Certified Building Commissioning Professional, Certified Energy Manager, and Green Building Engineer. Under his direct leadership, the group Paul manages at WSP was awarded the USGBC Best of Buildings Award for Best Commissioning Provider firm.
