About:
This session discusses the concept of high-performance homes and buildings and the application of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) ducted heat pumps to meet their design and efficiency requirements. It reviews different types of ducted indoor units, the special design considerations associated with them and how to effectively design for cold climate installations.
Objectives:
1. Define and describe what is meant by the term VRF high performance ducted heat pump and Explain the different types of ducted indoor units and special design considerations associated with them along how they can meet LEED BD+C V4
2. Review LEED BD+C V4 Homes Balancing of Heating and Cooling Distribution Systems Heating and Cooling Distribution Systems Quiet Systems
3. Identify the heating needs for cold climates and how ducted indoor units can meet these along with how validate energy savings through the LEED BD+C HOMES V4 LEED Energy Budget
4. List the benefits ducted VRF systems provide for the design of high-performance homes and buildings and how LEED BD+C V4 Homes Balancing of Heating and Cooling Distribution Systems multizones are relevant
