Your Long Island Chapter of the USGBC invites you to our new monthly chapter meeting called The Green Scene. This new format combines a monthly chapter update, informative program, and meet and greet/networking event for members and professionals to share ideas with other chapter members and the board of directors. 

This month, our presenter will be Janet Howard, Director of Facility Engagement for Practice Greenhealth, a membership-based, not for profit, working with over 1,000 hospitals nationally on environmental improvement strategies.  She is also Director, Content and Outreach for the Healthier Hospitals Initiative, a 12 health system-sponsored, three year initiative designed to use data to accelerate the widespread use of proven sustainability practices throughout the sector, where any hospital, regardless of size or location can benefit.   Janet pioneered environmental interventions in health care from 1991-2004 for Continuum Health Partners in New York City.  Janet is a frequent writer on health care sustainability issues for outlets like Greenbiz and Health Care Design Magazine. 

She will be presenting win win opportunities for health care and how hospitals are "realigning sustainability initiatives" and making the link between sustainability and quality, safety, wellness and prevention.
