Sarah Lansdale
Sarah Lansdale, AICP, is Suffolk County’s Director of Planning, and possesses 20+ years of planning experience in the public and nonprofit sectors. She works as part of the County’s Reclaim Our Water team, oversees open space and farmland preservation efforts, the Aquaculture Lease Program, and the Suffolk County Planning Commission.
A Suffolk County Landbank Corporation President and Executive Director, Ms. Lansdale facilitates the strategic development of the brownfields program. The Suffolk County Landbank has recovered over $6 million in back taxes from 94 property owners, facilitated the redevelopment of 6 tax delinquent brownfield sites that were vacant for an average of 20 years, and is in the process of rehabbing 18 zombie homes for first-time homebuyers.
Sarah also worked oversees as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala. Ms. Lansdale has a Masters Degree of Urban Planning from New York University, an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies, a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Energeia Partnership.
