Washington, DC – (Oct. 24, 2011) – Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chair of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has been elected chair of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC). The WorldGBC is a coalition of green building councils from 89 countries around the world.

Race to a Gigawatt!

*Knock Knock* That’s the sound of an RA stopping by to ensure you have committed to participating in Campus Conservation Nationals. CCN is the first nationwide electricity and water reduction competition on college and university campuses. Now in its second year, participating schools compete to achieve the greatest possible energy reductions in residence halls.

Last year, 120,000 students saved 500,000 kilowatt-hours in the first annual Campus Conservation Nationals.

Center for Green Schools and UTC Announce New Findings on Green Schools

Last week at the annual Greenbuild Conference Expo in Toronto, the Center for Green Schools and United Technologies Corp. held a press conference to announce findings from a new independent study conducted on green schools, as well as initiatives the Center will be taking in 2012. The results of the survey brought light to the fact that Americans are concerned about the status of high-efficiency buildings in our country.
